How offline dictation works on Windows
PrivaSpeech uses a speech recognition model that runs entirely on your Windows device. During initial setup, the application downloads the model files. This is a one-time download that typically takes a few minutes depending on your connection speed.
After the model is downloaded and your license is activated, PrivaSpeech operates without any network requests. Press the global hotkey to start recording, speak your text, and release to transcribe. The audio is processed locally and the result is copied to your clipboard.
This architecture means you can disconnect from the internet entirely and continue using PrivaSpeech. Whether you are on a plane, in a secure facility, or simply prefer to work offline, dictation keeps working.
